Recount Text (Museum Mpu Purwa)
The Mpu Purwa Museum is located on Jalan Soekarno
Hatta No. 210 Mojolangu Sub-District, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, East
Java Province. The museum was built with an area of 1,200 square meters on an
area of 1,800 square meters and has 136 collections in the form of statues
and inscriptions from the leadership of Mpu Sindok until the Majapahit Kingdom.
A total of 58 collections are displayed for visitors, while the rest are
stored. Evidence of the triumph of the past is diverse and scattered
discoveries. Like statues and inscriptions. Some have been stored in the Purwa
MPU Museum and some are still a private collection of the community. Mpu Purwa
Museum is taken from the name of a Brahmin in Tumapel named Mpu Purwa. The MPU
has a child named Ken Dedes. Later, Ken Dedes was stolen by Tunggul Ametung,
Akuwu in Tumapel which is a subordinate area of the Kingdom of Kediri, to be
his wife. The story ends in a rebellion led by Ken Arok to take Tumapel and attack
the Kingdom of Kediri. Then a new kingdom emerged under the name Singosari. Ken
Arok became the first king and Ken Dedes as his paramawar.
